Most airport-parking pages exist to sell you parking. This one starts with the awkward part: past roughly three to four days, taking an Uber both ways costs less than Pearson's cheapest official lot β and the TTC beats parking at any length of trip. Below that, parking genuinely wins. Here is the arithmetic so you can check it yourself.
Should you drive to Pearson at all?
Parking is priced per car; transit is priced per person. That single difference decides most of these trips, so the calculator asks how many of you are travelling.
Parking figures use Pearson's published drive-up maximums (the only fixed, quotable rates) β Daily Park $42/day capped at $235 for the first 7 days; Value Park Garage $32/day capped at $160. Fares: TTC $3.30 PRESTO, UP Express $9.25 PRESTO adult, Uber $42 average each way, and Pearson's published flat taxi tariffs. Because it uses drive-up rates, the calculator is slightly harsh on parking β prepaying online pushes the break-even about a day later. Prices as of 2026-08-03 β check the operator for live pricing before you book. Uber's $42 is their own published Toronto-wide 12-month average, described on their site as illustrative only: it is not a quote, it excludes surge, and it does not cover Brampton or Mississauga. Taxi figures come from Pearson's own fare-quote tool and are flat rates including tax; Brampton in particular varies by address ($53 at Bramalea City Centre against $72 quoted for the city centre).
The rates you can actually rely on
These are the published drive-up maximums β fixed, and the same whatever date you turn up. Prices include 13% HST.
| Product | Terminal | Daily max | First 7 days | Getting to the terminal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Value Park Garage | T1 & T3 | $32 | $160 | Terminal Link train, 6β12 min, every 4 min |
| Daily Park | T1 & T3 | $42 | $235 | 3β5 min walk, covered |
| Preferred Park | T1 only | $46 | $255 | Short covered walk |
| Express Park | T1 only | $59 | no weekly cap | 2β3 min walk, connected |
Prepaying online really is cheaper β 8–21%
This is usually a marketing claim. Here it is checkable: Pearson's own booking engine shows a struck-through "was" price beside the payable one, and those struck-through figures match the published drive-up rates above exactly. A sample 7-day stay at Terminal 1 in September 2026 quoted:
| Product | 7 days prepaid | Drive-up equivalent | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Value Park Lot | $129.99 | online only | β |
| Value Park Garage | $147.49 | $160 | $12.51 |
| Daily Park T1 | $212.99 | $235 | $22.01 |
Prepaid figures are live quotes for one specific date range (Sept 2026, Terminal 1), not a fixed tariff β they move with dates. The drive-up column is the fixed published rate. Quoted 2026-08-03 from torontopearson.com.
Four things we found in the booking engine
We queried real date ranges rather than reading the marketing page. These are not on the operator's own site.
1. Day seven is free
A 6-day booking costs exactly the same as a 7-day one β $129.99 at Value Park Lot, $212.99 at Daily Park T1, either way. If your trip is 5–6 days, book the full week: it costs nothing extra and buys a free buffer against a delayed return. (Five days is genuinely cheaper, so this only applies from six.)
2. "Book early to beat surge pricing" is mostly untrue here
The same 7-day stay priced across September, the December holiday peak and February came back at $129.99 every time at Value Park Lot β no seasonal premium at all. The pricier lots moved only 4–8%.
3. Long stays lose the cheap lots
At 17 days Fast Track stops being offered; at 21 days Viscount disappears; at 30 days only Value Park Garage, PreferredβVPG and Preferred T1 return any availability. Parking for a month? Book well ahead, and expect the cheapest lot to be gone.
4. Terminal 3 is cheaper for short stays
Short-stay increments run $7/$6 per 20 minutes at T3 against $8/$7 at T1 β despite identical daily maximums. On an airport pickup, that difference is the whole cost.
Cheaper per week β but you are buying a shuttle
Park'N Fly is the only genuinely large off-airport operator at Pearson, with four Toronto lots. Its one published rate is Economy from $59.99 per week β which undercuts a $84 return Uber over a full week, and undercuts every official lot. CAA members get 10% off online rates.

Getting to Pearson without the car
| Option | Fare (one way) | Time & frequency |
|---|---|---|
| TTC route 900 Airport Express | $3.30 PRESTO / $3.35 cash | 20–25 min from Kipling; ~5:30am–2am |
| UP Express (Union β Pearson) | $9.25 PRESTO / $12.35 standard | 28 min, every 15 min, 04:55–01:00 |
| Uber, within Toronto | $42 average (illustrative, surges) | 28 min average |
| Brampton Transit | $3.55 PRESTO / $4.75 cash | Route 115 serves Pearson |
| MiWay (Mississauga) | $3.50 PRESTO / $4.50 cash | Several routes serve Pearson |
A single TTC fare takes you all the way to the terminal door β route 900 stops at T1 ground level, then T3 arrivals. Buy UP Express with PRESTO, not a paper ticket: it is $9.25 instead of $12.35, a saving of $6.20 return. Children 12 and under travel free; seniors pay $5.80 with PRESTO. Note that tapping a credit card or phone gets you the adult rate only β senior, youth and student fares need an actual PRESTO card. Fares checked 2026-08-03 from ttc.ca and upexpress.com. Route 900 was formerly the "Airport Rocket" β that name is retired.
Licensed airport taxis are flat-rate β this is the part people miss
Leaving Pearson, a licensed taxi or limo charges a published flat rate with no surge pricing. That is the real difference against rideshare: on a snowy Friday night or a 3am arrival, the taxi price is the same as it was on a quiet Tuesday. The city meter rate does not apply to an airport pickup at all.
| To / from Pearson | Taxi (flat, tax incl.) | Limo |
|---|---|---|
| Square One & Mississauga City Hall | $52 | $58 |
| Bramalea City Centre, Brampton | $53 | $59 |
| Brampton City Hall | $69 | $76 |
| Union Station / downtown core | $70 | $77 |
| Scarborough Town Centre | $82 | $90 |
Quoted 2026-08-03 from Toronto Pearson's own fare-quote tool. A sedan (4 passengers) or van (6) quotes at the taxi price; an SUV or accessible van quotes at the limo price. Brampton is strongly zone-sensitive β $53 at Bramalea City Centre against $72 for the city centre β so treat any single "Brampton fare" with suspicion and get a quote for your actual address. Published surcharges: $15 for more than four passengers or excess baggage (once per trip, disclosed before you leave the curb), $15 per extra drop-off, $10 per 10 minutes for requested stops, plus 407 tolls if you ask for the 407. Drivers may not charge extra for paying by card. Pickup is outside: T1 taxis Door D, limos Door C; T3 both at Door E. These are official GTAA figures retrieved once this session and not independently re-confirmed, and the linked tariff map is dated February 2024 β confirm at the curb.
Questions people actually ask
Is it cheaper to park or take an Uber?
Past roughly three to four days, a return Uber from within Toronto beats even Pearson's cheapest lot. Under that, parking wins. But parking is per car and transit is per person β for a family of four, one car beats four UP Express fares comfortably. Use the calculator above with your real numbers.
Do I need a shuttle bus from the cheap lots?
Not for official Pearson parking. The Viscount Road lots (Value Park Lot, Value Park Garage, Viscount Station) use the free Terminal Link train, which runs every 4 minutes to both terminals. Only off-airport operators run shuttle buses.
Can I cancel?
Cancel more than 24 hours before your booking starts and you get a full refund. Inside 24 hours a fee applies, which varies by product β $32 for Value Park Garage, $42 for Daily Park, $30 for Value Park Lot. There is also a one-hour grace period at each end of your booking before overstay charges begin.
What is the cheapest way to park for a month?
Be aware the cheapest lots may simply not be available. At 30 days only Value Park Garage, PreferredβVPG and Preferred Park T1 returned availability when we checked. Book early, and if you can, weigh it against a return Uber or being dropped off β over a month, parking is the expensive option by a wide margin.
Why does this page tell me not to park?
Because for a lot of trips, not parking is the right answer, and a page that hid that would not be worth reading. We earn the same nothing whether you park or not β we do not sell parking, and every booking completes on the operator's own site at their price.
